– Oh no he bloody well has not! Also, the next person to use the word “troupe” is going to be set upon with a shovel about the head and neck, this is not the 1930’s.

MPs attack rail firms for raising fares in... →
The old lines are trotted out from conservative and capitalist zealots that a rail company is a “business” not a a “service”.
This is, of course, ass backwards because transportation infrastructure, especially internal infrastructure, is very much a service that has become integral to the way our society works. No trains, no commerce.
Private companies have shown they are...
Article19 V.X : Twitter Rampage! →
Nothing better to do, then watch as several live Twitter Search feeds go through their paces in real time. This is one of those web things that’s about 0.001% useful! For some reason it doesn’t work in Firefox, Safari, Opera and IE should be fine though.

Even the somewhat spineless UK police have these things as a matter of course. If they think it’s harmless and non-lethal they are more likely to use it than a real gun.

We don’t want to delete your images and video because of terrorists, we want you to delete your video and images because it proves we’re idiots! The UK police force, all over the wrong people.

Walter Cronkite, Voice of TV News, NYTimes.com →
The death of Walter Cronkite at 92 has, unwittingly, brought into focus what it is that actual journalists do. These days with Twitter, Facebook, Blogs and a million other sources of mostly pointless information we’re reminded of a time when news and information gathering was about getting it right, not about getting it first.
Robert Muchamore wrote that accusations that the scheme was “a stealth...
– Not a stealth tax? Really? Let’s see, 11.3 million people registering for a certificate that proves they are not a child abusing maniac would bring in about £723 Million. Not bad for something that will do little if anything to protect children!

– Apple takes ball and goes home. Look douchy nerds in Cupertino. When we buy a computer from you it ceases to be “your” computer and “your” software. It becomes “our” computer and “our” software for us to use as we see fit. Stop hamstringing iTunes so...

The stupidest 15 year old on planet earth! →
Ever wonder why the banks crashed out? Well it turns out Morgan Stanley is reproducing “analyst reports” written by a 15 year old boy. Said 15 year old boy comes across as a deeply unmotivated whiny jackass pulling numbers out of his ears.
40% of teenagers own an Xbox 360 you say, and the extensive research you conducted to arrive at this conclusion was asking your 5 friends what they...

Fiona Shaw remembers Pina Bausch →
It is suitably ironic that writers keep using images of Pina Bausch smoking to illustrate their tributes to the German Dance maker. Ms Bausch died of cancer aged just 68.
The stupidity of the arts media never ceases to amaze us!
"Thoughtful"
Bloggers who refer to someone else’s writing as a “thoughtful essay” are saying, whether they like or not, “i’m linking to something that is very boring about a subject which is even more boring than the writing”.
Whether or not they are admitting to there own dullness is another matter!
Spell Check!
The New York Times has a hitherto, at least to us, hidden feature. If you double click on any word in any article a small question mark pops up. Click on that question mark and you will get a definition of the particular word from the built in dictionary.
It’s cute and it’s clever and now we know what “solipsism” is!

– So Apple™ goes after anybody who they think might be breaching their copyright with gusto (like cloners making more powerful desktop machines for less money) but somebody making a Mario rip off, putting it on the app store (from which Apple makes money) is ok?

– It’s difficult to measure just how much bullshit there is in this piece by Stephen Brook. TMZ took a shot in the dark the Michael Jackson was dead. Even if they got it wrong the site, and the people who work on it, are so devoid of morals, professionalism or empathy that they could care less.
